Cullowhee UMC Youth Ministries
Spring 2024

Cullowhee UMC youth ministry is for any youth (6th-12th grade) in the Jackson County community. We accept ALL students, no matter race, orientation, ethnicity, or gender identity. We are a Jesus centered ministry who shares love with one another and with neighbors in our community.

Our youth team (Sarah, Adam, and Scarlette) is so excited for the spring semester. Our spring program consists of meeting once a week to GIVE through acts of service, GROWING spiritually, and GATHERING for a time of fellowship and building relationships with one another (the three G’s). We also offer Sunday school from 10:00-10:45am every Sunday morning. During this time, we look at ways to live out the words and actions of Jesus through interactive activities. Lastly, please mark your calendar for Tuesday, February 13th, Sunday, March 10th, and Sunday, April 28th as fundraising opportunities for youth service trips/Wilderness Trail. Make sure to mark your calendars for youth Sunday, April 21st! We will have several practices beforehand. This is a great opportunity to show how awesome our students are and to thank the church for their love and support!
We are so excited for the spring! It is important to note that our top priority is to make every student feel seen, welcomed, and safe. We encourage everyone to use words of affirmation towards one another and treating others how we want to be treated.
Now here is our Spring 2024 Cullowhee UMC youth calendar:
January: 21st-GATHER AFTERNOON lunch and snow tubing at Tube World in Maggie Valley. The cost for snow tubing is $40 a person. Please RSVP by Sunday, January 7th if you would like to join us for our spring kick-off. Scholarships are available. 12:30pm-4:15pm.
28th- GROW NIGHT Making bread with one another to serve to senior adults who need some love. 4-6pm.
February: 4th-youth council meeting at 3:15pm,GIVING NIGHT deliver bread to the senior adults. 4-6pm, Youth Sunday practice from 6-7pm.
11th-No youth due to Super Bowl.
13th-Mardi gras fundraiser from 6-7pm.
14th-Meal and Death by Chocolate at 5:30, followed by Ash Wednesday service at 6:30pm.
18th-No youth
25th-GATHER NIGHT giving our youth staff makeovers! 4-6pm, Youth Sunday practice 6-7pm.
March: 3rd-Youth council leads our night of GROWTH. 4-6pm, Youth Sunday practice 6-7pm.
10th-Bingo fundraiser 1-3pm, Youth council meeting at 3:15pm, Night of GIVING-Trash pickup, 4-6pm, Youth Sunday practice 6-7pm.
17th-No youth
24th-No youth due to spring break
31st-No youth due to spring break-Happy Easter!
April: 7th-GATHER NIGHT Trivia and Tye Dye 4-6pm,Youth Sunday practice 6-7pm.
14th-GROW NIGHT Prayer stations. 4-6pm, Youth Sunday practice 6-7pm.
21st-YOUTH SUNDAY at 9:05/11am, Bowling-Time TBD
28th-Carwash fundraiser during both services and Sunday school, Youth council meeting 3:15pm, GIVING NIGHT Community Garden 4-6pm.
May:
5th-Awareness Night 4-6pm.
12th-No youth due to Mother’s Day weekend
19th-Graduation Sunday at 9:05 and 11:00am service.
End of Year Celebration at the Waynesville waterpark Time: TBD
