Spring 2023 Event Schedule
JOY kids’ ministry is for any child (birth thru 5th grade) who is a part of Cullowhee United Methodist Church and the surrounding community plus their families. We are a Jesus centered ministry who share love with one another and with neighbors in our community. ALL families are welcome to join us at JOY kids!

Our children’s ministry team (Ms. Kathy and Ms. Scarlette) is so excited for the spring semester! Our spring program consists of a mix of fellowship and service projects that we will do together once a month. Weekly, we offer nursery to our “whee” ones (birth thru pre-k) on Sunday mornings during both of our services and during Sunday school (8:45am-12:00pm) and Wednesday evenings during “Whee Wednesday” (5:15-7:30pm). Our Kindergarten thru 5th graders are invited to Sunday school with Ms. Scarlette in the small fellowship hall on Sunday mornings at 10:00-10:45am. During this hour, we learn a Bible story and what the story can teach us. For our worship services, our K-5th graders can grab a “busy bag” as they enter the sanctuary that has age-appropriate bulletins, activities, and coloring utensils to use during worship.
Now, here is our Spring 2023 JOY kid’s calendar:
JANUARY: 22th-Roller Skating at Sk8way in Waynesville, NC from 1-3pm.
FEBRUARY: February 10th-Kid’s Night Out 5:30-9:00pm.
12th-Bowling for “Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday” from 1:30-3:30pm at Galaxy Lanes in Sylva. Make sure to bring in your soup cans for United Christian Ministries during the worship services that day.
MARCH: 26th-Trash/Clean up from 1-3pm.
29th-“Spring has Sprung” Fundraiser from 5:30-7:00pm.
APRIL: 9th-Easter Egg Hunt for 2 years thru 5th grade at 10am.
MAY: 21st-End of School Year celebration from 12:30-2:30pm at East LaPorte Park. BYOL.
