About Susan Bogart
Susan Bogart retired as an educator in 2007. She taught in public schools in Texas and North Carolina. Most of her professional career in education was spent directing federally- funded youth programs in the seven western counties of North Carolina. She graduated from the University of Kentucky and received her masters in education from Western Carolina University.
As the new coordinator of youth programs at CUMC, she brings her experience as a developer, implementer, and coordinator of programs that have won national recognition.
Susan grew up in the Baptist church where she was very active as a high school youth; and as an adult taught junior high Sunday school, vacation bible school, and worked in the nursery. She and her husband joined CUMC last year.
Susan is married to her college sweetheart, Bogie; and has two adult daughters, Karen and Kim; as well as three grandchildren, Joshua, Channing, and Sam. Susan and Bogie live in the Barker’s Creek area in an early 1900’s log cabin.
