Dear families,

Ms. Kathy and I pray that you all are safe and well and have missed seeing you and the children of our church! We have been working diligently to plan ministry opportunities for JOY kids in the midst of these new circumstances for the fall.  In the spirit of loving thy neighbor, keeping ourselves and you all safe is top priority when planning for JOY kids. The United Methodist Church is allowing small groups to meet in person with careful distancing in place. Our hope is to offer fun, outdoor adventures and service projects. We will continue offering Sunday school every Sunday virtually as well. When meeting in person, we will have procedures in place to practice social distancing and hand washing. This means, masks are required for our in person gatherings and all events will be outside (weather permitting).

We thank you for all of your prayers and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email, scarlette pless

We are excited for things to kick off in the fall and for the opportunity to gather in person again!

Blessings to all,

Ms. Scarlette and Ms. Kathy

Dear families,

Here are two in-person, gathering opportunities for JOY kids and their families for the month of October.

Friday, October 9th-Drive-in Night at Cullowhee UMC (sort of) Please RSVP by Thursday, October 8th if you and your family are attending.

We will be playing a movie, Hotel Transylvania, outdoors on the preschool playground. Families are invited to arrive around 7:45ish to find a space, socially distanced away from others, where your family will be comfortable watching the movie. The movie will begin at 8pm. We will have the picnic tables set up at a careful distance and you could bring blankets or lawn chairs that you can set up around your picnic table. You can also bring snacks and coats or blankets in case it’s chilly. We also will have prepackaged popcorn and juice pouches, along with a cooler for water. We hope to see you there!

Saturday, October 24th-Pumpkin carving on the preschool playground at 11:00am. Please RSVP by Monday, October 19th if you and your family are attending.

We would love for you and your family to join us for pumpkin carving. We will provide everything you need, the only thing you have to bring is yourself! We will be picking up the pumpkins from Darnell Farms on Tuesday and will make sure the picnic tables are at a careful distance. Hope to see you there!
