Cullowhee Kids Preschool
Welcome to Cullowhee Kids Online! A preschool program sponsored by Cullowhee United Methodist Church, Cullowhee, N.C. in Jackson County on the campus of Western Carolina University.

This is a non-profit preschool ministry of the Cullowhee United Methodist Church intended to serve children with an emphasis on learning through play in a Christian environment. The school complies with NC health and safety standards.
The Preschool is overseen by the Church’s Preschool Committee. Sandy Railsback (293-5624) is the director and teacher for the three-year-olds. Charla Weatherford teaches the two-year-olds, and Ellen Miller (293-5624) and Karen Partain (631-4485) teach the four-year-olds.
The preschool year follows the Jackson County Public School calendar for holidays. The starting date for Cullowhee Kids fall 2009 is August 25. The program meets 4 days a week, Mon.-Thurs. The full day program is 8:15 a.m.- 2:45 p.m. and the half day program is 8:15-11:45 a.m. Starting the fall 2010, there will only be a full day program with the half day no longer offered.
Important Information:
Registration for the 2010-2011 school year is currently underway. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please fill out a waiting list form and return it by mail or email (click on documents at the bottom of this page). We have openings for four year olds.
The 2010-2011 policy is also posted with fee schedule. The school calendar is not set yet because we are waiting to hear when the Jackson County School system will start in August. Our policy will be updated when the county comes out with their calendar.
“Kids Night Out Returns for March”
The Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry (on the 2nd floor of the new section of this church) will provide a “Kids Night Out” for children ages 2 and up to help parents have some time to enjoy a few hours of uninterrupted time. This event will also help the college students raise money for their mission trip to Wyoming this May.
What: Kids Night Out (Macaroni and Cheese, Apple slices, Juice or Milk, and a parent approved snack will be provided. You can drop your child off with supper if you don’t want them to have the provided dinner)
When: Saturday, March 13th, 5:30pm – 10:00pm
Where: The Wesley Foundation (Upstairs from Cullowhee Kids in Cullowhee UMC)
Who: Children ages 2 and up will be entertained and kept safe by college students who are members of the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry

Cullowhee Kids receive new playground equipment.
Three new pieces of playground equipment are installed and in use by the Cullowhee Kids Preschool. The slide, spinning tub and drive n’ learn were donated in memory Dennis Fulk by his family. The preschool children will have many years of enjoyment, and they graciously thank Addison and Caroline’s grandmother and family for this donation.
