We are a non-profit preschool ministry of the Cullowhee United Methodist Church intended to serve children with an emphasis on learning through play in a Christian environment.  The school complies with NC health and safety standards.

The Preschool is overseen by the Church’s Preschool Committee. Dana Frady (506-1103) is the director.  Sandy Railsback (h. 293-5624, c. 508-5764)is the teacher for the three-year-olds.  Charla Weatherford (c. 506-7807) teaches the two-year-olds, Ellen Miller (h. 293-5624, c. 399-0017 ) teaches a four-year old class and Karen Partain (c. 399-1550)  will teach a combination three and four-year-old class for the 2011-2012 school year.

The preschool year follows the Jackson County Public School calendar for holidays. The starting date for Cullowhee Kids  fall 2011 is August  16. The program meets 5 days a week, Monday -Friday.  The full day program is 8:15 a.m.- 2:45 p.m.  After school care is available 2:45-5:15 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Here are a few reminders from Cullowhee Kids.
 
This week, Jan. 30, we will be talking about groundhogs and shadows.  The 3′s and 4′s have the letter “U”. 

A big thanks to Susie Construction worker for talking to us about tools and safety!  Ms. Sue was awesome and the kids loved learning about all her cool tools.  Thanks Ms. Sue!

 Make up dates for the two snow days are as follows:

Feb. 20th  make up for Jan. 3rd

March 9th make up for Jan. 13th

 If you have seen a sweet new face around Cullowhee Kids it is probably Ms. Crystal.  Ms. Crystal is our new teachers assistant.   We feel very blessed to have her working with us.

 Please remember when packing your childs lunch that you include 1/2 cup of milk. If your child is milk intolerant then 1/2 cup of rice, almond or soy milk.

 The new playground will be under construction for the next few weeks.  The kids are very excited about the new playground equipment that should be coming this week.  Thanks to all the people who have helped make this possible!
