Construction Update

June 2009 Construction

We are very close to being finished with the biggest part of the building project. The new Wesley Center and Preschool should be finished in July.

The college students will be upstairs in the Wesley Center and The Cullowhee Kids Preschool will be licensed and on the ground floor ready for their opening date in August.

What is happening now? Painters are still madly painting trim work. The roof is up on the Walkway and the pillars wrapped with brick. The stairway at the preschool entrance needs rubber treads, landscaping continues, block wall is finished, carpet is partially installed and VCT (vinyl composition tile) is down in the fellowship hall. As you can see, we still need plenty of volunteers. And….

Part of the new construction at Cullowhee United Methodist Church is an ‘Elevated Walkway’ from the New Wesley Center out to Central Drive. It will create an inviting entrance for students. To help fund this walkway, the Wesley Foundation is selling personalized bricks which will be incorporated into the walkway design. The cost of each brick is $100 which includes 3 lines, 18 spaces per line. Won’t you consider purchasing a personalized brick in honor or in memory of a loved one?
