NEW ADULT STUDIES FOR THE NEW YEAR!

This January we’ll be starting three new study groups for adults interested in growing deeper in their faith, stronger in their commitment to Christ, and closer to those in their faith community. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been attending church all your life or this is a new experience for you. Everyone will find a comfortable place to share and learn together. Feel free to contact Sherrie Schork if you have questions or need more information or just to let her know you’re coming so we have enough materials for everyone at (sherrie’s email) or contact the church office.

Three Simple Questions: Knowing the God of Love, Hope and Purpose.

6-7:00 p.m. Wednesday Nights.  Jan. 11-Feb. 15

Join Sherrie Schork to discuss Rueben Job’s latest study that brings new insight on how to live a Christ-like life and explore the three most basic questions at the heart of our faith: “Who is God,” “Who am I in relation to God,” and “Who are we together as Christians and as God’s human family.” Jesus faced and answered these questions, and then taught and lived the answers. As followers of Jesus it is up to us to answer the same profound questions for ourselves and live the answers for our time.  Together we will begin the discovery of what it means to know and follow the God of love, hope and purpose.

Bible Stories

6-7:00 p.m. Wednesday Nights.

Starting January 11                Led by David Reeves

Joining the “preached word” and the “taught word” was a practice of Jesus seen over and over in the Gospels. David leads the group by introducing the Scripture for the coming Sunday’s worship service followed by lively discussion on the meaning and application of the text. Members gain insight into how to approach and study the Bible as well as being in conversation about the message for the coming Sunday. The group will enjoy hearing the story told and then making the story their own.

Sunday Morning Topical Study: Making Sense of the Essentials: A Discussion on Beliefs

Led by Sherrie Schork   has a NEW Start Date of February 5.

Due to the 5th Sunday plans for January 29 which include one worship service at 10:00 and no Sunday school meetings, the new Adult Topical Study will start February 5. The beginning discussion will still be on basic Christian beliefs. Drawing on Methodist Beliefs, the Apostles Creed, and a variety of theologians we’ll talk about what we believe and what it means to live out those beliefs through our faith. If you are currently not in a Sunday school class and have wanted a place to talk about questions and issues of faith in your life, come give this new small group a try the first Sunday in February.
